Container Ship Maritime Photography – Matson

I worked with Matson, Inc., a U.S. owned and operated transportation services company headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii, on several photography projects. Photographing Matson vessels at the Port of Tacoma allowed me a close look at one of the most recognizable names in Pacific shipping. The company’s bright blue hulls and distinctive container stacks are a familiar sight along Tacoma’s waterfront, where container terminals and towering cranes create a shifting industrial landscape.

Matson has long maintained a strong operational presence in Tacoma, using the Port of Tacoma as a gateway for cargo moving between the mainland United States and Alaska. The port’s deepwater terminals and rail connections make it an efficient hub for moving goods throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
