About Us

We are looking for a social media manager for two companies, Mihael Blikshteyn Photography and Yarvi, both started and run by Misha Dumov.

Mihael Blikshteyn Photography is an eight year old media company consisting of MB Commercial Photography, Taku and Tacoma Headshots. MB Commercial Photography is an architectural, construction, maritime and industrial photography and video business. Taku is residential and commercial photography and video. Tacoma Headshots is a studio and on-location headshot photography business.

Yarvi is a startup. Our goal is to effect land conservation through market-based approaches. We do this by building standardized campsites. We incentivize small land owners to conserve their land by creating an alternative revenue stream from their land. We want them to choose our minimum impact campsites over fully developing their land. We also help land conservation organizations gain awareness about the lands they manage through our camping program.

Position Description

We are looking for a contract, part-time social media manager. This is a remote position for 10 to 15 hours per week. Starting pay is $18/hour. The position is geared toward a college student or a recent graduate, preferably in Washington state.

You’ll be our first dedicated Social Media Manager, responsible for leading and expanding our two companies’ social presence. You will translate our brand voices into warm and witty posts, stories, and comment threads across a variety of social platforms. You’ll also pioneer our journey into new platforms (whatever comes next).

Whether it’s a service, product or location launch, a cool new project we’ve completed, sustainability initiative, or office shenanigan, you’ll figure out how to share it in a bite-sized digital morsel. You’ll manage our social media calendar and help provide analysis, reporting, and forward-thinking strategies – or be interested and willing to learn how to.

We know you might not have all the skills. We are looking for a person hungry to learn on their own, a passionate and witty writer, who is also a driver of digital trends and culture.

Skills and Expectations

  • You have an innate ability to write compelling copy with a distinct voice, in a natural, friendly, cheerful language for the social media generation. Ability to write well without relying on AI.
  • You can effectively research and synthesize information from the internet about our clients and projects.
  • You know all major social media channels (FB, IG, TikTok, LinkedIn, TikTok …) and tailoring a well thought out content strategy for each of them.
  • You’re a self-starter and can turn a vague idea into a tangible asset with limited input. You have the confidence to take a project and run with it and the humility to ask for help before it’s too late.
  • You have basic video and image editing skills so you can publish social content independently. Proficiency with video and image editing software of choice to format media to appropriate resolutions and file formats.
  • You have all the necessary tools to do the job – computer, cell phone, Internet access, etc.
